Tester Earnings Tax Notice

Vibe x Vibe (VXV) Last updated: 15 March 2026

This notice is general information only. It is not tax or financial advice. Tax obligations vary depending on your individual circumstances and the laws of the country in which you reside. We strongly recommend you consult a registered tax agent or accountant for advice specific to your situation.

Your Earnings Are Taxable Income

When you complete surveys on VXV and receive Rewards into your Wallet, those Rewards are assessable income under Australian tax law (and likely under the tax laws of your country if you live outside Australia).

This means:

Your earnings history is available at any time in your Wallet dashboard.

The ABN Withholding Rule (Australian Testers)

If you complete surveys on VXV in the course of carrying on an enterprise (for example, as a sole trader, freelancer, or small business), Australian tax law requires us to withhold 47% of each payment and remit it to the ATO if you have not provided your Australian Business Number (ABN).

This is not a penalty — it is a pre-payment of tax on your behalf. However, it means that without an ABN, you will only receive 53 cents in every dollar you withdraw.

To avoid withholding, add your ABN in your account settings before requesting your first withdrawal. If you are not running a business and are completing surveys as an individual (not in connection with any enterprise), the no-ABN withholding rule may not apply to you — but please confirm this with a tax professional.

You can apply for an ABN for free at: abr.business.gov.au

How Much Tax Will I Owe?

This depends on your total income for the financial year (including VXV earnings, employment income, and any other income sources) and any deductions you are entitled to claim.

As a general guide for Australian residents:

Total taxable income (FY 2025–26)Approximate marginal rate on income in that bracket
$0 – $18,2000% (tax-free threshold)
$18,201 – $45,00016%
$45,001 – $135,00030%
$135,001 – $190,00037%
$190,001 and over45%

Medicare Levy (2%) is added on top of your income tax in most cases. These rates change periodically — always check ato.gov.au for the current rates.

Tip: If you expect your VXV earnings to be more than a few hundred dollars over the year, consider setting aside a portion of your withdrawals to cover your tax bill at the end of the financial year.

Overseas Testers

If you live outside Australia, your Rewards are likely assessable income in your country of residence. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with your local tax laws. VXV does not provide tax advice for jurisdictions outside Australia.

What VXV Reports to the ATO

We may be required to provide information about payments made to Australian users to the ATO as required by law, including if directed to do so by the ATO's data-matching programs. We will always comply with lawful requests from the ATO.
